Gourmet goodies are on offer this weekend at the Great Brixton Bake-Off, the Southbank’s Cheese & Wine Festival and the London Coffee Festival.  Elsewhere, pick up an original print or go to a free festival at the Tate Modern.  

Hyperlink Festival, The Tanks at Tate Modern, Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 April 2013

Head to Tate Modern’s new underground spaces this weekend for a 3-day festival of art, music and fashion for young people. Exploring the idea of the ‘six degrees of separation’, Hyperlink invites visitors to take part in a series of interventions, workshops, performances and installations with artists, photographers, designers and musicians. Cheese & Wine Festival, Southbank Centre, Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 April 2013

There are cheese and wine goodies galore at the Southbank Centre Square this weekend. With artisan and ethical exhibitors showcasing and selling their ways, alongside free events in the Cookery Theatre, the Cheese & Wine Festival is sure to be a hit with foodies.  Free. More details here.

Great Brixton Bake-Off, Brixton Station Road, 10am to 5pm, Saturday 27 April 2013

Following last year’s success, Brixton Market Traders Federation is hosting an extravaganza of culinary delight on Saturday in Brixton Station Road, from 10am to 5pm, with the Winners’ Announcement at 2.30pm. There’s live music and dancing at noon, and something for kids from 10am to 2pm with a “Monstrous Baking Kids Craft Section”. Free. More details here.

London Coffee Festival, The Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane, Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 April 2013

The London Coffee Festival is in residence this weekend at The Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane. Visitors can expect coffee and food samples, tastings, demos and live music. Learn about the various different ways to make and brew coffee at home, visit your favourite Barista at the True Artisan Café and graze your way through the Artisan street market. Tickets cost £9.50 in advance or £12.50 on the door (adults), £4.50/£5.50 (children aged 10-16), children under 10 go free. More details here.

London Original Print Fair, Royal Academy of Arts, Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 April 2013

The annual London Original Print Fair returns to the Royal Academy this weekend featuring 50 prominent galleries, dealers and print studios from the across the UK as well as Finland, France, Germany, Ireland and Italy. Works on sale range from £100 to over £100,000 and showcase the broadest scope of art history, from Renaissance engravings to etchings by Picasso and prints by a wide range of contemporary artists like David Hockney RA, Tracey Emin RA, Gilbert & George and many more. Visitors also have the opportunity to purchase prints by emerging artists. Tickets cost £12 (adults), under 12s free. More details here.
