Planning to do your Christmas shopping this weekend? If not, there’s festive fun, carols and a chocolate festival to get your teeth into…

Chocolate Festival, part of the Southbank’s Winter Festival, 10am to 8pm Saturday 14 and 10am to 6pm Sunday 15 December 2013

The Chocolate Festival returns to the Southbank Centre this weekend as part of the latter’s Winter Festival. Chocolatiers who will be showing and selling their creations include L’Artisan du Chocolat, Rococo and Duffy’s Red Star Chocolate. Other sweet treats on offer include brownies, chocolate cakes, churros with chocolate, and a great selection of Christmas-themed chocolate gifts. There will be a range of demonstrations, a daily chocolate quiz and a series of Masters of Chocolate Masterclasses. Free. More details here.

Christmas Crackers, Foundling Museum, 10.30am to 4.30pm Saturday 14 December 2013

Inspired by the Museum’s collection of tokens, join artist Davina Drummond to create a cracker with a message and gift for someone special, or to help decorate the Museum’s Christmas tree. Free for children and up to two accompanying adults. The Foundling Museum’s annual carol service will also be held from 2pm to 3pm on Saturday. More details here.

Free Festive Fun at Wandsworth Museum and the De Morgan Centre, 11am to 5pm Saturday 14th December 2013

There’s festive family fun and games at the Wandsworth Museum and the De Morgan Centre on Saturday. Join in making traditional Christmas crackers and tree decorations between 1.30pm and 4pm. Free entry. More details here.

Christmas in Trafalgar Square, until 22 December 2013

Trafalgar Square’s customary Norwegian tree is up and there will be different groups and choirs singing carols under it every day until 22 December. Free. More details here.
