October Half Term: Tricks and Treats

This week we are going to post two suggested activities every day. The “tricks” will each be a free activity, the “treats” will each be a paid activity.

Trick – Try a city farm

We had a lovely time celebrating Apple Day at Kentish Town city farm over the weekend. There are lots of other great city farms such as Freightliners (Islington), Hackney, Mudchute, Vauxhall, Spitalfields, StepneyCrystal Palace and, our personal favourite, Surrey Docks. Entry to city farms is free, and many now have lovely cafés selling homemade (and often home grown) produce.

Treat – Discover Children’s Story Centre, Stratford

If you haven’t been to Discover – it is a real treat for little ones. Explore the interactive story worlds, play in the outdoor adventure area and visit the brilliant, colourful Dr Seuss exhibition. There are special storytelling and illustration events in half term and you can meet famous authors at Discover’s off-site half term takeover of Stratford Library. Tickets cost £6.50 each. Stratford Library sessions cost £3 per person or £8 including a Discover day pass. More details here
