Comida Fest, Cutty Sark Gardens Greenwich, from 11am, Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 July 2017

Enjoy a festival of Latin American street food this weekend, with the chance to sample cuisine from 12 different countries. There will also be a mariachi band, salsa dancing, a celebration of Frida Kahlo, workshops, kids’ activities and more. Free. More details here

Hackney Summer Fête, St John at Hackney, 12pm to 6pm, Saturday 8 July 2017

Foodies Fest Blackheath, Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 July 2017

The UK’s biggest food festival heads to Blackheath this weekend. See winners from the Great British Bake Off and Master Chef sharing their know how, alongside Michelin-starred chefs and other food and drink experts. Bastille Day at Borough Market, Bankside, 12pm to 6pm, Sunday 9 July 2017

France celebrates Bastille Day on 14 July and so this weekend Borough Market, which is awash with French traders, will be hosting its own celebrations. Illustrators’ Summer Fair, House of Illustration, 12pm to 6pm, Sunday 9 July 2017

Pop along to Granary Square in King’s Cross this weekend to discover 150 hand-picked stalls selling illustrated prints, books and ceramics in every genre from children’s illustration to graphic design and comics. The House of Illustration will be offering 2-for-1 entry to its galleries and there will also be children’s craft workshops. Free. More details here
