The Imaginary Menagerie, Grant Museum of Zoology, 1pm to 4pm, Saturday 31 January 2015

Explore the Grant Museum’s animal collection and create your own animal artwork with a Museum artist at this family day. Free. More details here

Snowdrop Days, Chelsea Physic Garden, 10am to 4pm, until Sunday 8 February 2015

Chelsea Physic Garden is open this week to allow visitors to see its winter plants such as snowdrops, wild primulas, miniature iris, and delicate crocus. There are also walks, talks and workshops with garden and snowdrop specialists and winter treats on offer in the café. Tickets cost £9.90 (adults), £6.60 (children aged 5 to 15 years), free for under 5s. Maximum two under 16s per adult. More details here

Family Day: Light, Serpentine Gallery, 12pm to 5pm, Sunday 1 February 2015

The Serpentine Gallery’s Family Day on Sunday is inspired by Julio Le Parc’s exhibition. Families are welcome to join filmmaker James Holcombe to explore light in a creative workshop. Scratch, punch and draw onto 16mm film to make moving images in the Gallery’s experimental projection room. Free. More details here

Family First Sundays, Kenwood House, 12pm to 4pm, Sunday 1 February 2015

On the first Sunday of each month, Kenwood House’s artists run creative workshops to bring Kenwood’s world famous paintings to life. Families can work together to try out different art and crafts whilst exploring the house and finding out more about its collections. Why not give it a try this weekend. Free. More details here
