Time to start gearing up for Easter this weekend with a spring fair, chocolate festival, boat race and Big Egg Hunt.  Or try to get a ticket for the new David Bowie exhibition…

David Bowie is, V&A, until 11 August 2013

The V&A has been given unprecedented access to the David Bowie Archive to curate the first international retrospective of the artist’s career. Already one of the most anticipated exhibitions of the year, David Bowie is will feature more than 300 objects, including handwritten lyrics, original costumes, fashion, photography, film, music videos, set designs and Bowie’s own instruments. Tickets cost £14 (adults), V&A members and under 12s free (but children still need a free ticket). More details here.

The Lindt Big Egg Hunt, Covent Garden, until 1 April 2013

101 enormous eggs, decorated by top artists, have been touring the UK recently and will land in Covent Garden this weekend for this year’s charity Big Egg Hunt.  Download your map and get hunting! It’s all in aid of Action for Children. More details here.

Country Living Spring Fair, Business Design Centre, Islington, Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 March 2013

Head to Islington’s Business Design Centre this weekend to pick up some inspiring ideas for your home and garden. The Country Living Magazine Spring Fair will gather together independent designers, small producers and craftspeople from across the British Isles, many of them exhibiting for the first time. Shop for unique jewellery and fashion collections, sample regional fare and discover furniture, fabrics and accessories to add country style to your home. Tickets cost £12.50 for adults and £7.00 for children over the age of 5 in advance, and £16.00 for adults and £8.50 for children over 5 on the door. More details here.

Chocolate Festival, Southbank Centre Square, Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 March 2013

Looking to stock up on Easter treats? The Chocolate Festival returns to the Southbank Centre this weekend. As well as picking up goodies from top chocolatiers, you can attend workshops, tastings and indulge in hot chocolate, chocolate cakes and other chocolate based products. Free. More details here.

Head of the River Race, Mortlake to Putney, Saturday 23 March, 12.45pm

This weekend sees the annual Head of the River Race between Mortlake and Putney.  More than 400 crews are due to take part. Find a good spot and watch the action for free.  More details here.
