Canary Wharf Winter Lights Festival, 4pm to 9pm, until 27 January 2017

Make the most of the dry weather this weekend to visit Canary Wharf’s Winter Lights Festival. There are 30 light installations spread throughout the Wharf, which come alive from 4pm to 9pm each night. Free. More details here

Magical Lantern Festival, Chiswick House and Gardens, until 26 February 2017

The Magical Lantern Festival is back at Chiswick House for the next few weeks with oversized lantern scenes representing the Silk Road. There is also an entertainment area with food and drinks, ice-rink, ice bar, virtual reality gaming, mini funfair and games. Tickets cost £18 (adult), £12 (child). More details here

Teenage Bedrooms, Geffrye Museum, until 23 April 2017

The Geffrye Museum’s temporary exhibition steps inside the bedrooms of 26 London teenagers to explore their meaning and significance. The exhibition is a partnership between the Geffrye Museum and Queen Mary, University of London. Free. More details here

Art Makers, Horniman Museum, 1.30pm to 2.15pm or 2.45pm to 3.30pm, Saturday 21 January 2017

Celebrate the Chinese Year of the Rooster by making and decorating a rooster lantern. Activities are designed for families with children aged 3 and over. £3 per child. More details here
