Lots to do this weekend – buy some original art, go to a feast, watch the London marathon or a fleet of ceremonial rowing boats, attend a food fair or visit a windmill…

Pick Me Up 2013, Graphic Arts Festival, Somerset House, 10am to 6pm daily until 28 April 2013

Somerset House’s annual contemporary graphic arts festival is back for an 11-day celebration of graphic art, design and illustration.  “Pick Up” original artwork or limited-edition prints by elite and emerging talent, attend a quirky family workshop, or sample one of the creative forums.  Tickets cost £8 for adults, concessions £6, Festival Pass £15, under 12s free. Feast of St George, Trafalgar Square, 12pm to 6pm, Saturday 20 April 2013

Head to Trafalgar Square this weekend for a traditional celebration of St George’s Day, featuring an English farmers’ market, a decorated banqueting area with interactive dragon sculpture, free tastings and live demonstrations from cookery experts. Entertainment will be provided on the Music Medley Bandstand with musicians from GIGS (the Mayor’s busking competition), plus pop-up entertainment from minstrels, jesters and jugglers. Family activities include a marquee full of dragon training activities and a games area where you can have a go at traditional garden games and croquet. Free. More details here.

London Marathon, Central London, Sunday 21 April 2013

It’s the London Marathon this Sunday. If you are planning to spectate, or just want to avoid the busy parts of town, find all the race information you need here.

Tudor Pull, Hampton Court to Tower Bridge, from 9.30am, Sunday 21 April 2013

Watch a fleet of historic, ceremonial cutters make their way along the Thames from Hampton Court to Tower Bridge on Sunday. The cutters will escort the Thames Royal Shallop ‘Jubilant’ rowed by members of the Company of Watermen and Lightermen, to deliver a ‘Stela’ (a piece of medieval water pipe) to the Governor of the Tower for safekeeping. Camberwell Food Fair, 9am to 4pm, Saturday 21 April 2013

Part of the Camberwell Food and Drink Festival that is running until 27 April, the Camberwell Food Fair takes up residence on Saturday on Camberwell Green.  There will be a whole host of traders and vendors, a Foodie Treasure Hunt for the kids, festival deals and cooking demonstrations. Upminster Windmill Open Day, 2pm to 5pm, Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 April 2013

Upminster Windmill, a Grade II listed building built in 1803, is widely considered to be amongst the best remaining English smock mills. This historic building, staffed by volunteers, will be open for visitors this weekend. Free, donations welcome. More details here.
