The weekend’s set to be a scorcher – need ideas for family-friendly fun in the sun? Look no further, we’ve rounded up what’s on outdoors this weekend in London.

Camden Beach, Roundhouse, until 22 August 2012

Why travel to the coast when you can go to the beach right here in the city? This weekend is your last chance to head along to Camden Beach at the Roundhouse.  Alongside the sand and deckchairs, there are food and drink options, pétanque, ping pong and more.  Don’t forget the buckets and spades. Lollibop Children’s Festival, Regent’s Park, 17-19 August 2012

If you are willing to blow the budget, the Lollibop Festival in Regent’s Park is the place for Under 10s to meet their TV heroes this weekend.  With a line-up that includes many CBeebies favourites, music, theatre, face painting, storytelling, art workshops and more, it’s sure to be a hit.  Tickets cost £27 in advance (£33 on the gate). Canary Wharf Jazz Festival, Canada Square Park, from 1.30pm, 18 and 19 August 2012

Canary Wharf is playing host to a free jazz festival this weekend. The festival’s line-up is designed to celebrate all aspects of the genre, from new up-and-coming artists to famous names like Courtney Pine – there should be something for everyone. Free. More details here.

Foodies Festival, Battersea Park, 11am to 7pm, 17-19 August 2012

Head to Battersea Park this weekend for the Foodies Festival, featuring demonstrations from top chefs; over 100 artisan food exhibitors; a range of world street food; children’s cookery classes; live music; and a city beach.  Limited numbers of tickets are available on the door each day, £15.  Under 16s go free. National Trust, Kids go free offer, until 31 August 2012
