Things are starting to get festive this weekend with a Christmas Market and festive Ideal Homes.  Elsewhere, stroll through an Enchanted Woodland, pick up designer crafts or contemplate some classic photography…

Southbank Centre Christmas Market, 11am to 10pm weekdays, 10am to 10pm weekends, until 24 December 2012

Get some early festive spirit this weekend at the Southbank Centre Christmas Market.  Take in the riverside views and Christmas lights while sampling the mulled wine, bratwurst and gingerbread on offer, or just pick up some Christmas gifts.  More details here.

Cartier-Bresson: A Question of Colour, Somerset House, until 27 January 2013

If you’re at the Southbank Centre visiting the Christmas Market, why not head across the river to Somerset House to see its latest exhibition.  Featuring 10 photographs never before exhibited in the UK alongside over 75 works by 14 international acclaimed photographers, the exhibition illustrates how photographers working in Europe and North America were influenced by the great Henri Cartier-Bresson.  Free.  More details here.

Enchanted Woodland, Syon Park, 5pm to 9pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings until 2 December 2012

From this weekend until 2 December, Syon Park’s gardens and Great Conservatory will be illuminated every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening for the 7th Annual Enchanted Woodland.  Wrap up warm, don your wellies, and go along to join in the fun.  Refreshments are available.  Tickets cost £7 (adults) and £3 (children).  More details here.

Handmade in Britain 12, Contemporary Craft and Design Fair, Chelsea Town Hall, 11am to 6pm, until 18 November 2012

The Handmade in Britain contemporary craft fair features makers in the fields of fashion design & accessories, interiors, textiles, glass, jewellery, woodwork, paper, metalwork, ceramics, sculpture and furniture.  Tickets cost £6 (adults), £4 (concessions).  More details here.

Ideal Home Show at Christmas, Earl’s Court, until 18 November 2012

The Ideal Home Show at Christmas shopping event hits Earl’s Court this week, with over 600 exhibitors sharing ideas on food and drink, gifts, gadgets and decorations.  Tickets cost from £12 (adults), £10 (concessions).  Children under 15 are admitted free (two per adult) but require a ticket.
