This weekend there’s Diwali, Monsters, Concertos, Illustrating and a Dog Show…

Diwali Festival, Trafalgar Square, 1pm to 7pm, Sunday 16 October 2016

Trafalgar Square will be brought to life on Sunday with colour, music and dance of India. There will be Indian crafts and gifts, street food and live performances. Elsewhere, you can have a go at making a Diwali lamp, tie a sari, try Bollywood moves and have your hands painted with henna. More details here

Family Day: Monsters, Keats House, 1pm to 4pm, Sunday 16 October 2016

There’s monstrous fun to be had at Keats House on Sunday. Listen to stories of things that go bump in the night and make character finger puppets to help act out the stories. Free, no booking required. More details here

Southbank Sinfonia Family Concert, Cadogan Hall, 11am, Saturday 15 October 2016

Explore concertos at a concert for 5-11 year olds this weekend at Cadogan Hall. Hear 33 young players as your guides, and expect dramatic lighting effects and big screen projections to take you right inside the orchestra. After the concert you can meet the musicians and try out some of their instruments. Tickets cost £6.50 (children), £10 (adults). More details here

Record Breaker: The Worlds’s Longest Landscape!, Dulwich Picture Gallery, Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 October 2016

As part of The Big Draw, pop along to Dulwich Picture Gallery this weekend to help create the world’s longest landscapes. Professional illustrators and members of the public will attempt to capture the sights and communities of South East London. Tickets are free for children and £8 for adults. More details here

Cabbages and Frocks Market Dog Day, 11am to 5pm, Saturday 15 October 2016

Head to St Marylebone Parish Church Grounds this week for a market with a difference. Cabbages and Frocks Market is holding an Autumn dog day with lots of stalls selling canine goods, a dog display, a free dog show and more. Free. More details here
