This weekend – festivals galore…

Lambeth Country Show, 12pm to 8pm, Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 July 2017

The Lambeth Country Show is back for another year. Enjoy all the attractions of a traditional country show such as horticultural shows, sheep dog & owl displays, home grown vegetable and flower competitions, craft stalls, food stalls and an on-site farm. Elsewhere there will be all manner of live music including steel orchestras and samba bands. Free. More details here

Liberty Festival and World ParaAthletics Championships, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, 14 to 23 July 2017

The World ParaAthletics Championships take place this week at the Olympic Park. Tickets start from £10 for adults and £5 for children, so it’s a great chance to witness world class athletes competing at the Olympic Stadium without breaking the bank. On Saturday the Liberty Festival also hits the Olympic Park celebrating Deaf and Disability arts with a wide range of performances. Free. More details here and here

Walthamstow Garden Party, 12pm till late, Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 July 2017

Waltham Forest and Barbican present the return of the highly successful Walthamstow Garden Party this weekend. Head to Lloyd Park for a showcase of local music, theatre, cinema, craft, design, poetry, and food and drink. Free entry, but limited capacity. More details here

Greenwich World Cultural Festival, Sunday 16 July 2017

Eltham Palace, childhood home of Henry VIII is the place to be on Sunday for the Greenwich World Cultural Festival. Enjoy free dance, theatre, music and circus from around the world. Free entry to the festival, normal admission charge applies to the Palace. More details here

Family Day: Plant Power, Keats House, 1pm to 4pm, Sunday 16 July 2017

Keats was knowledgeable about plants and their many qualities. This family day at Keats House will give you the chance to sow your own health-giving herb seed to nurture at home. Free. More details here
