Seven Kinds of Magic, House of Illustration, Granary Square, until 24 August 2016

The House of Illustration in King’s Cross has opened a permanent Quentin Blake Gallery which will offer a continuous series of exhibitions of different aspects of Quentin Blake’s work.  The first exhibition explores Blake’s approach to magic and surrealism featuring original illustrations from seven of the author and illustrator’s books. Tickets cost £7 (adult), £4 (child), under 5s free. More details here

Surrey Docks Farm Spring Fair, 11am to 4pm, Saturday 14 May 2016

Our favourite urban farm is having a Spring Fair on Saturday. There will be sheep shearing, a vegetable orchestra, farm produce, Morris men, baby farm animals, local craft and food stalls, bar and BBQ area, wool spinning demonstrations and other family fun. Free. More details here

Broadgate Circle Literary Family Fun Day, 11am to 4pm, Saturday 14 May 2016

To celebrate what would have been Roald Dahl’s 100th birthday, Broadgate Circle is hosting a family fun day inspired by the author this Saturday. Follow a candy-cane walkway into a Roald Dahl wonderland with arts and crafts, immersive storytelling, science displays and imaginative games. Broadgate’s restaurants will also have special offers and child-friendly menus this weekend. Free. More details here

18th Streatham Common Kite Day, 11am to 5pm, Sunday 15 May 2016

The 18th Streatham Common Kite Day takes place this weekend with kite displays, street food stalls, a brewery stall, refreshments and ice creams, live music, bouncy castle, face painting, Dr Bike and local community stalls. Free. More details here
