Crossing Borders 2017, Horniman Museum, 11am to 3pm, Saturday 11 March 2017

Head to the Horniman Museum on Saturday to celebrate diversity through storytelling, art and craft activities and immersive theatre performances. The event is produced in collaboration with organisations who work with local refugees and asylum seekers. Free. More details here

Families Find Out, Museum of London, 11am to 4pm, Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 March 2017

Investigate the Great Fire of London with scientists from Imperial College London this weekend at the Museum of London’s free family festival. Learn about fighting fire with custard, discover the recipe for fire, rebuild London or engineer a fire engine, attend storytelling and more. Free. More details here

London Wildlife Trust Family Activities, Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 March 2017

Why not make the most of some early Spring sunshine to enjoy the great outdoors this weekend? The London Wildlife Trust has family activities this weekend at Sydenham Hill Woods, Camley Street Natural Park, Centre for Wildlife Gardening and Birdbrook Nature Reserve. Activities range from identifying trees and toasting marshmallows in the woods, to learning about amphibians. Check out the website here for more details and to book a free place.

City of London Police Museum, Guildhall Library, open 10am to 4pm every Saturday, closed Sundays

If you’re in the market for something a bit different, check out the City of London Police Museum. Discover the history of the City of London Police, which stretches back to 1839 and includes exhibits relating to Jack the Ripper, the Blitz and some of the UK’s biggest fraud cases. Free.
