What’s on at half term? – 27 May to 4 June 2017

This half term week there’s lots happening around town to entertain the family. Here’s our pick of what’s on.

Feria de Londres, Potters Fields Park, Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 May 2017

Head to Tower Bridge this weekend for a festival of all things Andalucian.  Try some typical dishes, alongside some Spanish wines, beers, sherries and cocktails. Come and see dancing, music, flamenco, traditional costumes, and have a go at a rumba or flamenco lesson. Free. More details here

The Tale of Thor’s Wedding, Museum of London, Saturday 27 May to Sunday 4 June 2017

Find out what happened when Thor discovered his axe had been stolen at an interactive storytelling session inspired by Viking battleaxes. Meet Old Norse characters and animate their stories every day in half term. Each story is 30 minutes long and suitable for over 5s. Free. More details here

Animation Workshop with Grace Emily Manning, Discover Children’s Story Centre, Monday 29 May to Friday 2 June 2017

Do you have a budding animator in the house? Gain an introduction to animation with award winning artist Grace Emily Manning at Discover Story Centre this week. Create a character inspired by Dr. Seuss and learn how to make it move. Pre-booking is essential. Entry to Discover costs £6.50 per person (under 2s free). More details here

Horrible Histories: The Best of Barmy Britain, Hampton Court Palace, Saturday 27 May to Saturday 3 June 2017  

History fans aged 6 to 106 can enjoy a special one hour production of Horrible Histories live on stage at Hampton Court Palace this half term holiday. Meet the characters from Britain’s barmy history with Horrible Histories’ trademark songs, dances and gory bits. Tickets cost £12 (adult), £7 (child), free for under 5s. More details here

Dalston Children’s Festival, Saturday 27 May and Saturday 3 June 2017

London Riviera, Thursday 1 June to 31 August 2017

London’s very own Riviera opens this week with bars, street food and entertainment on the bank of the Thames all through the Summer. Check out Albert & Friends Instant Circus on Saturday 3 June from 2pm – acrobatics and circus tricks to entertain all the family. Free. More details here

Streatlife, Alexandra Palace, Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 May 2017

StrEATlife is Alexandra Palace’s Street Food and Craft Beer Festival, which is taking place for four weekends across the summer. Enjoy live music, DJs, street art, street food traders, craft beer, cocktails and pimms. Free entry. More details here
