BDT goes large: Hever Castle and Gardens, Kent

Thanks to the recent adaptation of Wolf Hall, all things Tudor- and Anne Boleyn-related are having a resurgence; and what better place to find out more about the notorious Queen Anne, than her childhood home, Hever Castle?

Inspired by the Tour de Yorkshire: family days out in York

The Tour de France sets off from Yorkshire this week with Stage 2 starting in the historic city of York. We spend a lot of time in York visiting family, so we have put together our favourite York family days out. Whether you are there this weekend for the Grand Départ, or taking a break in York over the summer, there’s plenty to do…

The Hop Farm Family Park, Kent

This week we ventured out on a babydaytrip with both MJ and new baby G for the first time. Such a special occasion merited a trip outside London for a change – so we thought we’d try The Hop Farm in Kent. Easily accessible by car from London, The Hop Farm Family Park is an ideal destination for city families with small children who fancy escaping to the country for a few hours…

BDT goes large: National Railway Museum, York

Babydaytripper has gone large this week with a review of the National Railway Museum in York, instead of the usual London-based day out.  Normal service will resume next week.  In the meantime, and given we’ve been out and about a bit further afield over the summer, here’s the first of our new series of reviews of baby friendly destinations outside the big smoke…
