Big Fish Little Fish

Do you hanker after the days of clubs and festivals but just can’t manage it now you’ve got a family? Big Fish Little Fish (BFLF) music and dance parties could be the answer! The weekend afternoon parties (“for the post-rave generation of parents and kids”) take place in quirky venues with music provided by established club and festival DJs, plus activities for all the family. Expect to feel like you are at a mini-festival with club visuals, balloons, glowsticks, bubble machines and confetti; a children’s craft area; a cake stall; a licensed bar; and a baby-friendly chill-out room.

BFLF’s music policy takes in everything from ska, rave, soul, indie, hip hop, house, disco, dubstep and drum’n’bass. The parties are targeted at families with children under the age of 8 and run throughout the winter months in venues across London. There is usually a fancy dress/dressing up theme (e.g. pirates, Halloween).

We are going along to this weekend’s party at The Bedford in Balham, so we’ll post a review here after the event. Other upcoming parties are in Hackney Wick (19 October), Balham (9 November), Hackney Wick (16 November) and Brixton (29 November). Check out the website for details. Tickets cost £8 (adults), £4.50 (children), pre-walking children go free.
