MJ and his school friends have been in the grip of a Pokémon obsession for the last year or so. This involves racing around pretending to be the hero Ash or Pikachu his “pocket monster” (Pokémon, get it?) and seeking other Pokémon to “battle”. And just generally spending hours memorising the Pokémon encyclopedia (yes, it exists). In fact, he loves it so much these days that he nearly fainted with excitement when he heard the news that we’d been invited to preview the latest Pokémon movie release.

We used to have a leisurely start on a Saturday morning, but that went out of the window when the boys arrived. If you’ve been up since it was still dark, it feels like half the day is over by mid-morning. The answer? A nice early activity. We used to go to early morning toddler football – but didn’t want to be committed (i.e. paid up) weeks in advance. So, drop in sessions are the way to go for us now at the weekend. Which leads me to our latest discovery – toddler trampolining at Oxygen Freejumping!
